A couple months after we bought our house, we realized that we had a "sitting room" that was almost never used. It was supposed to be a dinning room, but we have our kitchen table in the nook of the kitchen. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to move all my craft stuff into one confined area (although it doesn't always stay confined ;-).
We repainted the walls and made the back wall a chalkboard wall. I had
THREE vintage desks that were being stored in various rooms. I used the two similar ones along the back wall and mounted MDF countertop above them to create one long seamless desk. This created a center area to sit at my computer between the two desks and a space to sit at my sewing machine. The space between the desks was storage area before, but then I realized it was the only space that actually has enough leg room to sit comfortable at the computer for several hours. I also have a vintage drafting desk in the middle of the room, which makes a wonderful area for putting together crafts and cutting pattern pieces when sewing.
Since I first started putting this room together, I've made several changes and it continues to evolve as I start more projects. This is my favorite room in house, even though it's quite a mess most of the time :-)
